Calvin Harris Blame is the second single from the Scottish DJ's fourth album. The soulful-EDM "Blame" features John Newman. The song lyrics talk about John not willing to accept the full responsibility on an important issue.
Can't be sleepin'
Keep on waking
Is that the woman next to me?
Guilt is burning
Inside I'm hurting
This ain't a feeling I can keep
[John Newman - Chorus]
So blame it on the night
Don't blame it on me
Don't blame it on me
Blame it on the night
Don't blame it on me
Don't blame it on me
Blame it on the night
Don't blame it on me
Don't blame it on me
So blame it on the night
Don't blame it on me
Don't blame it on me
[Instrumental]
Can't you see
I was manipulated by it
Who let her through the door
I had no choice in this
I was the friend she missed
She needed me to talk
[John Newman - Chorus]
So blame it on the night
Don't blame it on me
Don't blame it on me
Blame it on the night
Don't blame it on me
Don't blame it on me
Blame it on the night
Don't blame it on me
Don't blame it on me
So blame it on the night
Don't blame it on me
Don't blame it on me
[Instrumental]
[Bridge]
No one saw something
Start a thing
Yeah
I got defense
Oh I promise (I'll be better this time, I will be better this time)
Don't blame it on me
Don't blame it on me

Calvin Harris & John Newman Feel Remorse In "Blame" Music Video

Calvin Harris and John Newman blame it on the night and not on the fact that they're such players. The Emil Nava-directed music video for "Blame" finally premiered today, September 12th on VEVO. In the video, Calvin gets to sleep with a woman that's totally in his league, while John will get to do the same but with a girl that would never see him with sexual attraction in real life. Oh, the perks of shooting music videos!
“Blame” is the latest single from DJ-singer’s Calvin’s upcoming album, and it’s leading the midweek UK charts. If nothing changes, the Scottish man will see his fifth UK number one happen this Sunday. Congratulations in advance!
Back to the music video, it opens with Calvin and John at their respective mansions sitting on bed giving the back to the lady who’s slept next to them. Although I really didn’t understand the ending where the girls dived into water recipients/hot-tubs and teleported themselves to a pool miles away from where they where, I guess the idea of the video is that John and Calvin met the girls they slept with at the club, and instead of blaming it on their inextinguishable appetite for sex, they want to blame it on “night” for having met these sweet and innocent girls the previous night and had taken them to their houses.
I can totally understand Calvin’s “chick” agreeing to go with him to his place to make wild love – just see here a picture of Calvin Harris shirtless - but John's "chick"? Come on, that girl must've been dead drunk.
